8 things to do with your kids in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato these holidays

With the kids out of school for a minimum of 22 days in April (that’s more than your annual leave for the whole year!), you’re going to need a few tricks up your sleeve and a whole lotta patience to get through the month. Here are a few ideas that might help.

Dolphin Seafari

Dive into the holidays with a five hour Dolphin Seafari! Ride on the custom made 40ft catamaran with a special viewing platform to get (respectfully) up close and friendly with Tauranga’s dolphins. With wetsuits and snorkels available to hire, the young ones are sure to have the experience of a lifetime. A 94% viewing rate (or your money back if the dolphins are hiding) and child entry just $85!

Waimarino Adventure Park

Take the kids for a wobble on the wild side with a 33% saving on a family pass to Waimarino Adventure Park on the Wairoa River. Turn the little ones into human cannonballs by launching them off “the blob” or check out their new attraction – the UFO. Featuring New Zealand’s only kayak slide, Italian Pedalos, a gladiator pole, and four-person stand up paddle boards, the kids will have more than enough fun to tire themselves out

Waterfront Wipeout

Waterworld Wipeout is back with its epic floating waterpark at The Strand, Tauranga. Daily from Friday 7th April – Friday 21st April. Bring your kids above 5 y.o. for an hour of fun on the water – lifejackets supplied!

Kaitiaki Adventures

For the kids 13 years and older, kick the water experience up a notch with grade 5 white water rafting on the Kaituna River with Kaitiaki Adventures. The action-packed ride will see you soar down 14 rapids, including the world famous 7-metre Tutea Falls – the world’s highest commercially-rated waterfall! Save 54% on a six-person pass with GrabOne, which includes a photo pack and 25% off food. Take a bunch of the young crew out for the day and secure your title as the ultimate cool parent.

Mount Maunganui Surf Academy

Hit the sand and surf while the good weather still lasts with a two hour beginner surf lesson at the Mount Maunganui Surf Academy. Wetsuit and surf boards are included

Mystery Easter egg hunt

Join the mischievous rabbit Peter and his friends on a mystery Easter egg hunt adventure on 11th April! Hop into your pyjamas and into Peter’s majestic world on this day of cotton tail fun.

Mini-golf with rabbits

Head to Rotorua for $12 rounds of mini golf surrounded by real bunnies. Enjoy a day out or spend an evening golfing until 10.00pm. Experience the novelty of evening time golfing – twinkling fairy lights, colourful laser lights, a groovy fog machine and dazzling disco lights, will help set the scene and illuminate your way.  An added bonus is the legendary soundtrack and thousands of bubbles.

Pirate’s Quest

Enrol in the Pirate’s Quest Holiday Programme, happening on 12th April, where children can join the crew and set sail on an exciting adventure full of treasure, excitement, and daring deeds.
