Kiwi creatives make a masterpiece out of clay and Waihi Beach sand

Jenny Drury of fashion brand Ketz-ke and Yon Kavvas of Claybird ceramics have collaborated on creating a stylish serving plate.

Looking for something special to decorate your table with this winter? The collaboration between Jenny Drury (Ketz-ke) and boutique ceramicist Yon Kavvas (Claybird) resulted in a chic serving plate that would be perfect for cheese, charcuterie or even a high tea ceremony.

The two available designs were named ‘Splat’ and ‘Drip’ and are a nod to Ketz-ke’s signature statement prints. Each plate is hand cast and hand painted.

Both designs have an infusion of sand sourced from Waihi Beach which gives them an amazing dappled off- white hue. Waihi Beach sand is a signature of Claybird’s pieces, while Waihi Beach itself is a special place for both Yon and Jenny who have family ties to the area.

It’s already the third collab between the creative duo, with the first two – a mug and a cake plate – selling out in the blink of an eye. So, if you don’t want to miss out on this one, get ready for the start of the sale on 1 July at ketzke.com.
