Strawberry and Chia Seed Jam

Nothing beats the taste of homemade jam, and this quick and easy Strawberry & Chia Seed Jam is a healthier alternative to store-bought varieties. Made with fresh strawberries, natural sweeteners, and nutrient-rich chia seeds, this jam is not only delicious but also packed with fibre and omega-3s.

With just a handful of ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up a naturally thick and fruity spread that’s perfect for toast, yoghurt, or desserts. Plus, it’s free from refined sugars and preservatives, making it a wholesome choice for the whole family. Enjoy it fresh or store it for later  – either way, it’s bound to be a favourite!

Ingredients:

  • 400g strawberries, fresh
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup

Method:

Heat fruit in a small pot over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruit begins to break down, about 10 minutes.

Use a wooden spoon to mash the fruit to your desired consistency.

Stir in the chia seeds, lemon juice, and sweetener until combined.

Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.

The jam will thicken as it cools.

Serve immediately, or transfer the jam to a sealed container and refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
