The British Film Festival returns to New Zealand

Watch the best of British cinema on 2nd – 13th December in Tauranga, 19th – 29th November in Auckland and Wellington and 26th November – 6th December around the rest of the country.

The second annual British Film Festival is back to celebrate the finest filmmakers and acting talent Great Britain has to offer.

Screening 20 specially curated films, the festival will feature an impressive line-up of actors and actresses including Academy Award nominated actress Kiera Knightley (MISBEHAVIOUR), BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated actor Rupert Everett (WARRIOR QUEEN), multi-award-winning actress Lesley Manville (MISBEHAVIOUR) and Emmy-winning actor Derek Jacobi (WARRIOR QUEEN).

“Last year’s inaugural British Film Festival was such a hit with Kiwi audiences, we’re over the moon to announce its return. New Zealanders love the romance and escapism of going to the cinema, and our carefully curated line-up is rather special indeed, featuring a wide range of comedies, dramas, romances and audience favourites.”

Kelly Rogers, CEO of the British Film Festival

The festival will run in 19 cinemas around the country. Tauranga audiences can enjoy the movies at Rialto Tauranga. Auckland citizens can choose between The Bridgeway Cinema, Monterey Howick, Monterey Takapuna, The Capitol and Lido Auckland. In Wellington you can visit The Penthouse, Light House Petone or Monterey Upper Hutt, whilst the Christchurch leg of the festival will run at Academy Gold and Lumière Cinemas.
