There’s no doubt that we would achieve more if we chased our own dreams and goals rather than chasing the competition.
We’d achieve more if we chased our dreams instead of our competition

So, what are the best ways to stay focused on your own dreams?

1. KEEP FOCUSING ON THE BIG PICTURE
Sometimes, when you’re slogging away and doubt starts creeping in, you need to remember that very few people have overnight success – they don’t see the long hours, late nights, the discipline, risks and hustle. They don’t see that the ‘successful’ person had doubts and had to make huge sacrifices to get to where they are now.
No matter what you do, there are going to be aspects of your job/business that are mundane and it’s only by focusing on the big picture – your ultimate dream – that keeps you going.
2. REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED
When you first set out on your dream you’re filled with anticipation and excitement. Initially your vision is all the fuel you need, but when you’re putting in the hard work and not seeing any results, you begin to feel jaded and start doubting yourself and asking ‘what’s the point?’ You lose the ‘thing’ that originally stirred you into action – your why.
Whenever this happens, revisit your dreams, those early scribbles in your notebook, refocus on the vision, remind yourself of your big vision and find the motivation to keep going.
3. PLAN YOUR DAY THE NIGHT BEFORE
Use the start of your day actively working on your priority list that you’ve set the night before. That way, you’ll get more done and experience more flow.
Ideally set a list of 3-5 tasks that are important and will help you move the needle forward in your business. The tasks should be productive ones that have clarity – that way you won’t waste your time with ‘busy’ things that don’t actually move you closer to your big picture goals.
4. GET INTO A DAILY ROUTINE
A daily routine that includes the things you need to do to make progress on your dreams is essential. Through implementing a daily routine, and sticking to it, you’ll find progress. Whether this is making 10 sales calls a day, going to the gym, or prepping your healthy meals for the next day – all these require discipline and daily work before you see ultimate progress.
