We’ve recently shared a list of books to help you manage money better and improve your financial situation but if you’re more of a listener than a reader, here are a few amazing podcasts with helpful money advice, overviews of the world financial situation and, of course, effective saving tips. Enjoy!
Financial Autonomy
Short and sharp, these 15-minute episodes are perfect for those whose brain has an automatic response of singing the Macarena whenever anyone talks money around you. Certified Financial Planner Paul Benson cuts right to the point, without letting you drift away, so you’ll end up feeling smarter and more enlightened after every rapid lecture. From starting a side hustle to creating annual financial plans, from building an investment portfolio to the pros and cons of private health insurance – there is no money-related question you won’t find an answer for in Financial Autonomy.
The Money Cafe
Afterpay, credit card fees, the rental market, education bonds – all these topics are vaguely familiar to most of us. But how well are you really able to navigate this complicated financial world? Well, The Money Cafe might not be exactly the guiding light you’re looking for, as many episodes are based on Australian and American examples and situations and are not always applicable to the local scene, but it will definitely extend your knowledge and help you find your way to some degree.
My Millenial Money
It’s funny how we still think Millenials are those fresh-out-of-college clueless baristas with no plans further than next Friday night, whereas the youngest Millenials are already 26 and the oldest have just hit the big four-O! Which makes house loans, salary negotiations and saving for the kids’ degrees a much more accurate description of a Millenials’ daily life than getting drunk on Friday night and live streaming wild parties on Instagram. The only thing that never changes about this generation is a snarky humour and endless pop-culture references. If chatting about Mariah Carey and Starbucks coffee flavours makes understanding finance easier for you then My Millenial Money is exactly the podcast you should be listening to.
She’s on the Money
Another money-oriented podcast done in Millennial fashion, only this one is focused specifically on women’s needs and wants. Still struggling to become smart, savvy and independent with your finances? Victoria Devine is onto it. This podcast is nothing short of amusing with loads of laughs, embarrassing confessions and failed plans but it also has useful advice and moral support for those finding their feet with money.
The Property Couch
This podcast had us sold immediately with their ‘How $4,ooo turned into six properties’ episode (but seriously, HOW?) but there is a lot more to learn if you’re seriously considering investing in property or saving for your new home. This podcast will also be useful for those working in or looking into commercial property business.
We Study Billionaires
If the guy next door could do it, why can’t you? Listen to inspiring stories of people already on the top of the financial ladder and get ready to adopt strategies that definitely work.
