7 things you should always remember to succeed in business

People are not born successful (well, unless you’re Kim Kardashian). It’s an ultimate combo of skills, perseverance and believing in yourself that makes you successful. Here are some things to always remember and to implement in your life that will take you one step closer to that glorious final goal.

1. Always keep the end in mind

Trying to achieve your business dream means always staying focused on the reality of what you’re going through right now. But what you shouldn’t forget to do, at the same time, is to keep the end in mind. And by ‘the end’ we don’t mean your luxurious millionaire life as a retiree, of course (though we have a few tips on how to reach this as well), but an ideal vision of the prosperous company you’re aiming to build.

2. Think like a winner

The way we think and how we assess the events and people around us is really important. Thoughts proceed actions, so if we think positively, we will act positively ourselves and the whole universe will act positively towards us. So don’t let yourself pre-judge people negatively or be afraid to fail at something.

3. Commit to your core values

Define your core values and stay true to them in what you do personally and what your company does.

4. Prioritise your relationships

Nothing is more important than having respect for every person you cross in your personal and professional life. Everyone needs a friend who has great advice, encouragement and empathy. But we also need people who make us uncomfortable, as these people push our boundaries and drag us out of our comfort zones. Valuing any relationship helps us to grow our business in a respectful and understanding way.

5. Be proactive

As they say, if you really want something to happen, make it happen. Do everything you can and then do a little more. Take control of your future and destiny, take control of your company. Just don’t sit and wait for good things to happen on their own!

6. Know you have the power

You can become the person you want regardless of your past and present state, others expectations or circumstances. We all feel low at times, but when something goes wrong we need to rise up and shine instead of giving up. Believe you can overcome challenges and change for the better no matter what the universe throws your way – and you will!

7. Encourage mentorship

Identify inspiring people at your workplace or in your industry and let them teach you. Great leaders always have great mentors! Surround yourself with good people, with people who challenge you, with people who are (at the moment) smarter than you, with people who have different opinions and will question your every move. Listen to them, argue with them, learn from them every day so that you become a better version of yourself.
