What 12 Years of Brows Has Taught Me About Confidence

After more than 12 years as a brow artist, I’ve learned that brows have very little to do with beauty.

They’re about confidence, identity, and recognising the woman looking back at you in the mirror.

Over the years, I’ve watched trends come and go, but one thing has never changed: the way the right brows can transform not just a face, but how a woman feels about herself.

I’ve worked with thousands of women, and not one of them has wanted exactly the same thing. There isn’t one perfect brow. The right brow is the one that makes you feel like yourself.

I was reminded of that recently at a women’s expo, where I met women who had lost their eyebrows through cancer treatment, ageing or hormonal changes. Using our Featherline Brow Pencils, I helped recreate their brows.

What happened next had very little to do with makeup.

There were tears, hugs and heartfelt stories about what it felt like to finally recognise themselves again. Later, many of those women messaged me – not to thank me for giving them eyebrows, but for helping them feel like themselves again.

Moments like that remind me why I do what I do.

People rarely think about their eyebrows until they’re gone. Yet they frame our faces, shape our expressions, draw attention to our eyes and quietly influence the way we see ourselves.

I’ve lost count of the women who’ve walked into my brow bar feeling tired, overwhelmed or nervous because they’ve never had their brows done before. Then, 30 minutes later, they’re smiling at their reflection. Their shoulders relax. They stand a little taller. They leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.

It’s never about becoming someone different. It’s about bringing back something that was already there.

That belief inspired me to create the New Definition Brows range. I wanted products that made beautiful, natural-looking brows achievable for every woman. Not because anyone needs to change themselves, but because sometimes the smallest rituals can have the biggest impact.

As women, we’re often so busy looking after everyone else that we forget ourselves. Spending five minutes doing your brows isn’t about vanity. It’s a small act of self-care before the school drop-offs, the meetings, the emails and everything else the day brings.

I often say, “Never underestimate the power of a good brow.”

Not because brows change who you are.

But because sometimes they help you recognise yourself again.
