When we talk about success each and everyone of us is different and has a different definition of success. However, we all seem to have the same end goal. It is what brings you Joy, Passion, Happiness, Fulfilment in all of the areas of your life:
Your Business, Family, Personal Health, Time Management…
I would love for you to take a moment and write down your definition of success to ensure you have clarity about what success really means to you. This will help you navigating on your path.
Ok, so naturally when we think about achieving our goals most of us tend to ‘sabotage’ what is possible. We often do this unconsciously. From the outside it looks baffling and from the inside it looks confusing and this is when we start to blame and accuse ourselves, others, the circumstances…
What behaviours are sabotaging your success?
When you look at your list of behaviours it might show you have resistance, that you keep getting in your ‘own’ way.
OR you might have the need to feel safe and success scares you! When we feel scared we sabotage ourselves in order to feel safe again.
Some typical self-sabotaging behaviours are:
- Procrastination
- Playing it ‘small’
- Ruining opportunities
- Avoid rocking the boat
- Over spending / Over drinking / Over eating / Workaholic
Can you recognise these behaviours in yourself?
If we really want to dig deep I invite you to ask yourself, What is the downside of my success? This will uncover what you are scared of and why you feel unsafe.
And then ask yourself, What is the upside of staying where you are? This will show you how staying small feels ‘protective’.
So with all this in mind, how does self-sabotaging really serve you? And what needs to be acknowledged within you so you can take the next step towards who you really are?
