Here’s some of the exciting things we tried, saw and loved over the past two weeks!

Honey Infused Scalp Treatment, gisou
Gisou by Negin Mirsalehi was created out of a passion for honey bees and haircare. Based in the Netherlands, Gisou’s hair formulations all contain their star ingredient, honey from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden.
Honey, as I’m sure you know, is well-known for its soothing and antimicrobial benefits.
So, what does this have to do with scalp and hair treatments?
The scalp microbiome is made up of natural bacteria and diverse mirco-organisms living on your scalp. If this isn’t healthy, your scalp might feel irritated and your hair won’t grow out strong, healthy and shiny.
The literature says: “The Honey Infused Scalp Treatment is a highly concentrated, fast-acting, microbiome-balancing leave-on serum that transforms your scalp and hair with supercharged 99% natural ingredients. It targets the signs of an itchy, oily, dry, irritated and flaky scalp to transform your locks in just weeks.”
Dee: “I have started using this twice a week and I can already see a difference in my hair. My hair is quite thin and my scalp can sometimes feel a bit irritated. This treatment calmed the skin on my scalp right down and my hair definitely looks visibly healthier. I would say it looks a bit fuller too and definitely shinier.
Shake the bottle before applying to your scalp whilst your hair is dry. It’s best to part your hair off in sections and apply small amounts to your whole head. Gently massage in with your fingertips for at least 5 minutes. Leave in overnight, do not rinse it off.
“Although the product does get absorbed into your scalp, I used an old pillowslip when doing this treatment. I thought the product would be sticky which I was a bit concerned about, but it isn’t. The active ingredients will penetrate your scalp overnight and next morning you simply wash your hair, as normal.
The directions suggest moving towards weekly applications when your scalp has calmed down. After that, use twice a month for maintenance.

Gel iQ by Depend Beauty
Kseniia: “I’ve honestly forgotten when the last time was that I had the same coloured varnish on both hands! Since I realised painting nails in (at least) two different colours on two hands is not only fun but also helps me organise more Instagram posts at the same time – my Instagram is all about matching my nail polish to the covers of the books I’m reading – this miss-matched manicure has been a permanent fixture in my life.
So, having 20 brand new colours to play with made me ecstatic. Especially when the new formula promises easier application, a glossier finish and easier removal! Bring it on.
The ‘easier removal’ phrase, by the way, is a very humble way to describe exactly HOW easy it was to remove these gel nails! It’s not my first gel nail set, I have another 30 colours and a nail curing lamp at home but something tells me this older one will start collecting dust from now on as removing gel nails has always been a nightmare with it. It was a long, exhausting process, that often ended in damaged nails, whereas the Gel iQ nails peeled off almost without any help on my side and with absolutely zero damage to my nails.
On the downside, they didn’t last as long as those nail-destroying ones usually do. But you know what? I’d rather do it more often and have healthy nails!
The Depend Beauty nail curing lamp is a cute little thing, at least three times more compact than the one I’ve used before. Unfortunately, that means you’ll have to cure four fingers first and then your thumb separately but also, you only need 30 seconds for each layer and there is zero drying time afterwards, so it’s still MUCH quicker than traditional nail polish that would smudge in 25 places before it dries 🙂 “
