Race @ The Lakes is a new Dragon Boating event, held at Lake Tikitapu, Blue Lake Reserve on Sunday 6th October 2019. And you’re welcome to join!
The legendary “Bay Dragons”, an all women’s team based in Tauranga, are hosting a new fun race to raise funds to attend competitions in Hong Kong later this year and in France next year. These ladies are absolutely smashing it in this ancient sport and have already won the 500m and 200m Regional Races at the National competition at Lake Karapiro in April 2019. Now they are on their way to represent New Zealand at the 14th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Champions held in Pattaya, Thailand in August.
Why not challenge the team by entering Race @ The Lakes competition this October! All you need to do is to put together a team of 13 people and pay a $500 per team entry fee. No previous experience in Dragon Boating? No problem! Everyone will be given training on the morning of the race day (6th October) so no experience is necessary. Racing will commence at 11.00 am and carry on until 4.00 pm.
Registrations are now open and will close on 14th September. There will only be 27 teams in the competitions, so hurry up and fill in the ENTRY FORM!
