The Papamoa Hills Night Walks are back for Round 9 on Friday 29 & Saturday 30 June 2018! Help raise funds to support Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga by joining this fun and healthy activity.
The walk starts at the Poplar Lane Car Park where walkers head up the hill and across the park finishing in the Ger (Mongolian Tent) at Summerhill Recreation Park. Don’t let the night stop you – the route is well-marked and closely monitored by Youth Search and Rescue (YSAR) marshalls.
The great evening adventure is traditionally held in the winter months and is an amazing chance to get off the couch, away from your devices and have fun. “Part of the fun is coming out under the moon and stars and doing something that the public are not normally allowed to do – walk in the Papamoa Hills Reserve after dark,” comments Helen Alice, one of the organisers of the Night Walk.
The walk is about 5km with a decent amount of uphill and brilliant views over the city and coastline, all under the full moon. Walkers are rewarded with cake and a hot drink at the top and then are taken back to their vehicles by minibus. Walkers must be over 13 and must pre-register.
Tickets are $28 and can be purchased online: breastcancerbop.org.nz
