Karen Murrell shares her insights on what to expect from her lip colours this autumn, offering a glimpse into the season’s must-have shades.
Autumn will see us kick off the cooler months with rich crimson shades, deep berry and raisin hues, and our everyday nudes will be touched with pink this season for added warmth. After many years of the “your skin, your lips, your lashes only better” message, makeup is experiencing a bold revival over the last year, and we’re continuing to see renewed emphasis on colourful, high-impact makeup, lips included.

I do love a dark, rich, moody red, and I’m going to be wearing 10 Magenta Moon this season on high rotation.
The Pantone Colour of the year means all things ‘Mocha Mousse’ will also be trending. I recommend 27 Graceful to embrace the mocha mousse inspired look, and my favourite 33 Driven for that perfect pink nude.
For the strong 90’s resurgence of deep berry and raisin-coloured lips you can’t go past 11 Scarlett Blaze, or the best seller from my Princesses of the Golden Petals Collection 22 Bordeaux Rouge. Both are dramatic and evoke a sense of personal power.

PRO TIP: Whatever shade you’re wearing, I suggest using a little of that lip colour as a blush at the top of your cheekbone to really accentuate the colour on your lips and tie in the whole look.
Here’s to a bold, season ahead!
