Forget romantic sparks, true friendship is what makes every TV show so much better! The connection, the support, the inside jokes – here are some of the besties that set the bar pretty high.
Tully and Kate – Firefly Lane (Netflix)
Critics called Katherine Heigl’s latest work ‘sickeningly sweet’. Dunno about the ‘sickeningly’ part but the bond between the introverted, shy Kate Mularkey and the outgoing superstar Tully Hart that overcomes every single obstacle thrown their way is definitely sweet as. Makes you want to call your school bestie, like, yesterday.
Jen and Judy – Dead to Me (Netflix)
Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini have incredible chemistry on screen. Who would’ve thought a grieving widow and a woman, responsible for her husband’s death (woopsie! Too late for a spoiler alert?) can become best friends?

Kate, Sutton and Jane – The Bold Type (Freeform)
Impossible not to fall in love with these stylish, smart and confident women, who are like siblings to each other. A highly-competitive environment in a popular women’s magazine where they all work brings them together and nothing can break them apart.
P.S. Fantastic news – the first couple seasons are now available on Netflix!

Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel — Friends
Well, of course, there is no friendship to rival what these trio has. The iconic. The original. F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda — Sex and the City
Why stop with two, when you can have three best friends? Sex and the City might as well have been called Friendship and the City (but let’s be honest, who would’ve watched it then!). We watched that show for many reasons – fashion, sex, Manhattan, awesome careers where you seemingly never have to work but still earn enough to live and party in NYC. But above all, it was always about the friendship between the main heroines.
Serena and Blair – Gossip Girl
They say ‘there is a thin line between love and hate’ and oh, but these two know how to walk it! From besties to enemies and back, rinse and repeat many times – the emotional turmoil of Serena and Blair’s friendship had us all on the edge for many seasons.
Devi, Ramona and Fabiola – Never Have I Ever (Netflix)
Our latest obsession, Never Have I Ever, brought us the beautiful gift of teenage friendship, neatly wrapped in Gen Z jokes and attitude. Watching these three young girls navigate life is the next level funny and helps us see the world from a different perspective.
Jess and Cece – New Girl (Netflix)
Winston’s shenanigans are forever in our hearts but since we’re talking BFFs here, it’s all about Jesse and Cece – young woman, who defy the stereotypes of a nerdy girl and a hot girl having nothing in common.
Grace and Frankie – Grace & Frankie
You don’t have to be young to be ‘goals’. Grace & Frankie is about women in their 70s (played by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin), who move in together and become best friends after finding out their husbands are in love with each other. Twist!
Leslie and Ann – Parks and Recreation
Did you know it was Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) who came up with the idea of Galentine’s Day – a day to celebrate female friendship instead of celebrating romantic relationships? Not surprisingly, she’s the BFF everyone wants. And her friendship with Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones) is one for the books.
Betty and Veronica – Riverdale (Netflix)
There is nothing as unpredictable as Riverdale. Is it a teen drama? A thriller? A sci fi? A soap opera? A crime genre? What IS it? The only thing that is predictable in Riverdale is a beautiful friendship between the two main heroines – Betty and Veronica. The blonde and the brunette are so tight, they were even awarded their own hashtag by their fans – #Beronica. Something normally only reserved for romantic couples.
Liza and Maggie – Younger
HOT news – after a loooooong break, Younger is coming back to our screens! Now is the perfect opportunity to binge the previous six seasons. Try not to get too jealous of two besties rooming together in a cool spacious studio, pulling off sleepovers in their 40s better than any teen ever could (because, you know, legal alcohol!), grabbing amazing career opportunities and falling in love with a sexy tattoo artist who is a good 14 years, ahem, younger.
