Is it too early for the Christmas vibe? We don’t think so! And if you want to make this holiday really special – don’t we all deserve it after the year we’ve had! – ditch the traditional approach like having a Christmas tree in the corner of the living room and use your imagination and creativity when decorating your home.
Decorate your bedroom
Bedrooms are supposed to be relaxing, right? And what could be more cosy and comfortable than a big, happy family holiday? So, bring the Christmas spirit into your bedroom to feel safe, secured and cared for. Drape your headboard with a garland, swap your usual bedding set for a holiday-themed one and scatter deliciously smelling candles everywhere.
Your bathroom can become your holiday sanctuary
When it comes to Christmas decorations, the bathroom is the room that is often overlooked. And how disappointing is that, when there are so many cool and really memorable possibilities! From small seasonal touches, like towels with gifts and candy prints, to massive faux pine garlands around the mirror and glittery bath bombs with festive aromas – nothing is too much when it comes to that amazing space in your house which you see first thing in the morning and last thing before going to sleep.
Turn your shelves into a mini-theatre
Have a bookshelf or shelves for random knick knacks? Don’t leave them casual and boring, when they can host so many decorations and might even have room for an entire Christmas-themed story made of your kids’ fav toys and some special holiday decorations: the adventures of feisty elves, winter wonderland ruled by kind Santa – there are so many scenes you can easily create and place around the house!
Doors are here for a reason
And that reason is to be decorated for Christmas! Don’t stop with one sad little sprig of mistletoe – internal doors are basically your blank canvas to express creativity and infuse your home with the festive mood. Use dialled-down decorations in white, light-grey and silver colours. After all, you’ll probably be seeing these decorations more than anything in the next few weeks while walking from one room to another and you don’t want them to become annoying.
Marry Halloween with Christmas
Still haven’t put your Halloween decorations away? There is no rush! Did you know that Christmas gothic style is – surprisingly! – becoming one of the most popular this year? Think Nightmare before Christmas aesthetic and dark, dramatic colours, like black Christmas tree with red and gold ornaments.
