Why Women Kill and 3 other amazing TV shows that were better off without the second season

Who doesn’t love a good TV show! The only problem with them these days is that after binging the entire season in two days, we’re left waiting another year for the next one. And what can be worse than a second season that is nowhere as good as the first one. Here are four TV shows that should never have had a season two.

Why Women Kill

Of course, the last two episodes that we’re yet to see might turn the entire plot inside out and change our opinion but somehow it doesn’t seem likely. Don’t get us wrong, the season itself is still an absolute feast for the eyes with its stylish filming, gorgeous costumes and eye-catching decorations. Definitely could’ve been a candidate for ‘The Best TV Shows of 2021’ list, if only it was an independent mini-series and not a part of the TV show perfection that is Why Women Kill. The second season is notorious for all characters just being… unlikable! The women from the first series did a lot of creepy things but we ended up rooting for them anyway. They were real and honest. New MCs look more like caricatures than real people. There is just nothing to love about any of them. Even Lana Parilla’s brilliant acting can’t save the season.

Big Little Lies

Seriously, what was that? We get it, the bombshell first season set the bar so high it was literally impossible to meet our expectations. But Meryl Streep joining the already impressive cast was a good start. Sadly, that’s where all the good news ends. It feels like there is literally nothing happening in the second season. The heroines keep on living through the circumstances of the event in season one, remembering them, thinking about them, talking about them. Move on already! There is more drama you can always start in Monterey, why being stuck in the same old?

Mythic Quest

An hilarious, laugh-out-loud TV show about the creators of the world’s most successful video game became surprisingly bland in the second season. No more jokes that force you to hit pause and wipe the tears, too many side characters and flashbacks seemingly placed there to just fill in time and the main heroes suddenly acting as unstable, unpredictable hot messes instead of being the talented and strong people we’ve seen before. P.S. Carol ‘the long-suffering HR’, we still love you and your scenes are the gems of the season!

For All Mankind

We accept and welcome all the drama in Big Little Lies but For All Mankind wasn’t supposed to be about that! It’s a TV show about heroes, about alternative history, about the most breathtaking human achievements. And that’s what made the first season so memorable, made it stand out in a row of TV shows about space exploration. The second one, though, became less about ‘exploration’ and more about living and causing chaos in space. It felt less like a reality and more like a sci-fi. With loads and loads of relationship dramas!
