Bringing warmth and joy into our home during summer is easy, thanks to the abundance of natural light, celebrations and brighter colours the season brings. With summer now behind us, Dulux Colour Forecasters predict that consumers will gravitate towards more serene, muted colours that evoke calm and a subtle sense of luxury, as they take time to reflect, unwind and enjoy simpler pleasures leading up to the cooler months.
“Warm neutrals, earthy yellows, soft greens and cool blues such as those featured within the Dulux Still palette, one of the three palettes from the Dulux Colour Forecast for 2025, encapsulates this feeling we may find themselves yearning for this autumn and winter,” says Davina Harper, Dulux Colour Specialist.
“Summer can be a busy time and as many of us continue to face cost of living pressures, the Dulux Still trend offers an antidote to the current mood. It’s a palette that feels comforting, harmonious and reflects the seasonal shift towards a slower, more reflective pace of life as people retreat indoors.”
She adds that this palette has an underlying warmth with calming neutrals offering the perfect stepping stone for those wanting to add more richness and subtle colour into their home.

Dulux Clay Court, Dulux Kauri Cliffs Half and Dulux Epsom
“Dulux Clay Pipe is a brown-based warm neutral ideal for walls and ceilings. This subtle neutral works well with warm white Dulux Epsom to add a sense of inviting warmth to a space.”
“Each of the colours within the palette have a greyed-off, soft and muted undertone giving them a timeless, grounded quality. For those wanting to enhance the feeling of sophistication within their home, look to incorporate richer shades from the palette, such as Dulux Clay Court, Shelly Beach or Dulux Te Aroha.”
Stylist Bree Banfield, together with the Dulux team, have worked their creative magic on a living room and bedroom, offering inspiration for how consumers can use the Dulux Still palette in their own home this autumn/winter.

Top Tips:
Bring the outdoors in: Soft, buttery yellows mirror the golden tones of changing foliage, while earthy neutrals and browns reflect the natural textures and warmth that we associate with this time of year.
Use a neutral base palette: Start with soft neutrals, off-whites or earthy browns for walls and large furniture pieces – particularly in open plan living areas. This allows for accent shades from the palette to shine throughout the room, without overwhelming the space.
Highlight architectural features with colour: While rich shades can help add a sense of luxury to a bedroom and other small spaces (hallways, offices), a cost-efficient way to add drama to your home is by adding colour to architectural features including doors, architraves, ceilings and trims.
Hero eco-friendly and upcycled pieces: Look for pieces that provide a natural finish and will stand the test of time in both style and quality.
Add playfulness through decorative vessels: Sculptural ceramics or pottery can add a touch of playfulness to your space without being overly flashy, reflecting the Dulux Still palette trend’s appreciation for craftsmanship.
Minimalist artwork: Consider still life-paintings or prints that celebrate the beauty of everyday objects – a simple bowl of fruit, a bunch of flowers or a solitary chair.
