Earthwise’s Plant Powered Laundry Powder has won big at the esteemed WorldStar Global Packaging Awards, with its revolutionary Eco Laundry Scoop bringing home gold in the Household category.
The 2023 WorldStar Global Packaging Awards registered 488 entries from 41 countries, with Earthwise being one of 19 award-winners from New Zealand and Australia.
The win only further enhances the company’s drive to have 100% of its packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025 or earlier.
“We were overwhelmed by the positive response when we first launched our Eco Laundry Scoop, with customers taking to social media in droves, and winning this award really drives home the fact that sustainable options are more important than ever to consumers,” says Earthwise Managing Director, Jamie Peters.
He also adds that without an existing eco-friendly scoop option, the company had to think outside the box to develop a solution, partnering with Forbes Packaging to create a fully recyclable cardboard scoop with zero impact on the product’s footprint or consumer’s wallets.

Unique to the pioneering company, the award-winning scoop is incredibly user-friendly with consumers simply needing to open their Laundry Powder, tear away the scoop inside, fold it together and scoop away. Providing a 30g measure, the scoop enables consumers to minimise product wastage per load, while it is made from offcut cardboard that would have been fully recycled anyway.
