Festival Italiano is back for 2025! The event will, once again, transform Newmarket into the country’s largest Italian street festival.
The festival week kicks off on Monday 17th February, with the main event on Sunday 23rd February. Think authentic Italian food, live music, a stunning Italian car showcase (Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini), and immersive cultural experiences like opera performances, and traditional market stalls selling everything from Italian fashion to handcrafted goods – all in the heart of Newmarket.
Festival Italiano has become a must-attend event on Auckland’s cultural calendar, with this year’s lineup featuring renowned Italian restaurants, Farina, Baduzzi, Giapo, and Arte Della Pasta (Newmarket’s 2024 Restaurant of the Year).
Given the challenges faced by the events and tourism sector in recent years, the festival plays a crucial role in revitalising foot traffic and supporting local businesses.
