focus was sent a few bottles of Zea Relief’s Concentrated Massage Oil to try out. This is for topical pain relief – to relax aching muscles, increase blood flow, calm painful nerve endings and reduce inflammation.
Zea Relief, owned by the Brass family in Australia, has developed a natural range of products and pure essential oils using the Kunzea plant which flourishes in the pristine wilderness of North-East Tasmania and is regarded as one of Tasmania’s best-kept natural secrets. Although the Aborigines have used Kunzea for thousands of years to relieve irritated skin conditions, muscular pain and on insect and spider bites, for minor burns, sinus congestion and flu symptoms, it’s only recently that further research has been done on this amazing plant.
With more than 25 years in the natural health and wellness industry, the Brass family developed a well-known range of premium, therapeutic-quality essential oils. On learning about Australian Kunzea Oil, the family spent years researching and testing the product, before expanding their product base and launching Zea Relief.
The Kunzea is organically grown, wild-harvested and sustainably sourced and its oil has now been recognised for its therapeutic benefits, temporary relief of arthritis and rheumatism, muscular aches and pains, relief from influenza/flu symptoms and its assistance with nervous tension, stress and mild anxiety.
Jenny Bailey: I have a lot of aches and pains so was very keen to try this product. It has a beautiful, natural smell and it glides easily onto the skin. I didn’t feel any immediate effects but just the process of massaging this into my muscles helped a lot and I would say that, in the long term, I felt better for using it.
Dee Collins: My muscle aches definitely benefited from using this massage oil. The oil itself has a beautiful, subtle Australian-bush scent that doesn’t linger for hours. It soaked into my skin easily and left it feeling really hydrated but without any oily residue.
As Jenny mentioned, apart from the massage itself, you don’t feel any immediate effects – there’s no burning feeling that you might get from some products. The oil evidently penetrates the layers of the skin and helps promote the body’s own healing process so it should be viewed as a long-term product for specific areas and should, ideally, be used a few times a day. For larger areas and a longer massage, you would need to use a carrier oil with it – jojoba or coconut oil works well.
Zea Relief products are safe for even the most sensitive skin and contain no harmful chemicals, artificial colours, synthetic fragrances or any other nasties. They are also 100% natural and cruelty-free.
