Feel Good With Flowers is a company that exists to promote the local flower industry to New Zealander’s and this year, they have teamed up with the NZ Paeony Society and participating retailers to help raise funds for Mental Health Foundation New Zealand.
focus had a chat with ThaiAnh Cooper from Feel Good With Flowers to find out more about Peonies With A Purpose.
ThaiAnh, tell us about Feel Good With Flowers and the Peonies With A Purpose Campaign
Feel Good With Flowers is an extension of UFG (United Flower Growers New Zealand) with a focus on promoting and championing New Zealand grown blooms and our local industry.
We feel that Mental Health New Zealand is such a worthwhile cause to support, so this year we have teamed up with the NZ Paeony Society and participating retailers to help raise funds for them.
For each bouquet with Peonies purchased at one of our participating retailers, $1 will be donated to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand on behalf of Feel Good With Flowers. These donations will go towards funding for mental health resources and information for those who need it or for those who are supporting someone in need. The campaign runs from the 31st of October to the 13th of November and, I’m sure you’ll agree, is a very worthy cause.
Each bouquet will also feature a sticker representing this campaign and donation.
The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand helps hundreds of thousands of Kiwi’s each year, now more than ever we saw a need to continue this partnership and raise awareness for a much needed service and support for New Zealanders.
Why should Kiwi’s get behind this initiative?
Mental Health matters and most of us will know of a friend or loved one that has experienced challenges with mental health and wellbeing over the last few years.
People often suffer in silence, or have no idea where to turn to. Thats where organisations like the Mental Health foundation come in and provide invaluable support to Kiwi’s.
Buying beautiful blooms is a way to show your support but it also has a positive impact on our own mental health. There are numerous studies online that show the impact that having beautiful blooms like Peonies can have on mental health and wellbeing.
Tell us about Peonies and their significance to this campaign?
New Zealand grown Peonies are absolutely gorgeous blooms and a perfect choice for this campaign. Our growers put in so much hard work every year to produce quality blooms and the Paeony Society has been a staunch supporter of our campaign throughout the years.
Peonies symbolise love, happiness, goodwill and joy. We hope these beautiful blooms bring an abundance of joy to their recipients.
