Time to dust off your wigs, retro-jewellery and craziest party dresses – the Bay’s biggest show, Tarnished Frocks and Divas, has just announced their 2019 show days! And you can become a part of it!
What started as a modest fashion parade, in a shed for 350 people in 2005, turned, in 2017, into a massive performance at the ASB Arena with over 180 cast and crew and an impressive number of nationwide and international celebs such as TV-presenter Peta Mathias and singer and Riverdance performer, Caitriona Fallon. It took the crew six months of rehearsals before setting up the impressive stage and opening to sellout performances. Over 7,000 guests visited the last Tarnished Frocks and Divas!
Now this bi-annual celebration of fashion, music and compelling women is back for 2019. And anyone who is happy to donate their time can become a part of it! Auditions are scheduled for 23rd and 24th March at the Tauranga Boys College Gym. You don’t need to be a professional actress or singer to participate, nor have any previous experience but it’s loads of fun and you’ll make new friends along the way. Almost 300 people have already expressed their interest on the official Facebook event page. Who wouldn’t be keen to walk down the enormous catwalk in one of the gorgeous dresses created by talented local designers such as Kerry Funnell, interviewed by focus two years ago!
The dates of the 2019 shows are 25-28th September. The time and prices will be announced soon. Keep an eye on our website and magazine as we follow this year’s rehearsals and shows!
