In focus: free-flow journal, Verna Carr’s book and other things we loved

In focus is a fortnightly, online update on things that the focus team has loved. New places we have discovered, food we’ve enjoyed and events that have made us happy – here’s a glimpse into our lives from the past two weeks.

Metamorphosis: wisdom for a changing consciousness, Verna Carr

Verna is a naturally gifted healing facilitator which means she can sense people’s energy –where it is flowing and where there are imbalances. Verna has used her love of photography and combined this with loving and wise sayings that have been channelled through her, to produce this colourful and inspirational book.

“The butterfly teaches us the magic of metamorphosis and transformation. Change can be very scary, but change ensures growth. We have to shed the old before we can come into the new.” – Verna Carr

This talented lady also produces gorgeous greeting cards with her photographic work. Check out Verna’s work!

Vigour and Vitality new look

The mylk we always loved for sustainability and great taste has just received a visual revamp! Jess Joy, the new creative director of the brand, designed the logo and colourful packaging for all 17 amazing flavours. There’s also a brand new website to support the relaunch.

The new logo is striking – it contains two “V”s and an “A” (an abbreviation of Vigour and Vitality), circled by reminiscences of a sunflower, which just happens to be one of the most popular V&V’s flavours and also represents being whole in ourselves and the universe. Isn’t this just the coolest thing you’ve read today?

You can find the stone-ground nut and seed mylk concentrates all over the country. Tauranga stockists include Huckleberry, The Nourished Eatery, Wild Earth Organics, etc.

The woman you are to be, free-flow journal by Rose V Bele

Words: Dee Collins

For years I kept a daily diary and documented what happened in my life but, recently, I decided to give journaling a go. I wanted to get past the ‘what happened’ and explore the experience, meanings and effects of my daily life. So I actively started to explore journaling as a way to activate new ideas, stimulate inner perspectives and access the power of the unconscious.

Each day I set aside some quiet, undistracted time and write. Some days I write pages and pages, other times, only a few sentences. I’ve written about things that have inspired, annoyed and frustrated me; other times I have just written whatever comes to mind or drawn pictures and scribbled.

You can imagine my delight when a beautiful journal was delivered to our offices. The woman you are to be is a gorgeous free-flow journal produced by Rose V Bele. I can’t wait to start using it!

“For the days when the words flow easily, when you may not need any prompting, there are lined pages. When doodles and pictures work better, there are blank pages. When the words don’t flow easily, a word, a phrase, or a quote may help you get started … There are no set rules. You create your own.” – Rose V Bele

You can order the journal directly from Strategic Living 101. We’re pumped that Rose will be exhibiting AND speaking about the power of journaling at the Focus on Women Expo.
