Both Tauranga and Mount Maunganui are in the Top 10 fundraising areas for the Dry July 2021, having raised $36,228 to support people affected by cancer.
Every year the Dry July campaign is becoming more and more recognised and supported in New Zealand, with the one in 2021 becoming the most successful in history! Over 8,600 Kiwis raised $1.6 million for Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand (PCFNZ), Bowel Cancer New Zealand, Look Good Feel Better and PINC & STEEL NZ cancer rehabilitation physiotherapy.
Tauranga always shows impressive results in the Dry July campaign. And 2021 was no exception. Almost 200 people from Tauranga and Mount Maunganui participated in it this year, raising $36,228, which landed the areas on the seventh and eight positions among the Top 10 performing suburbs respectively.
“We have been blown away by the dedication of every New Zealander taking part in Dry July 2021,” said Dry July Campaign Manager Ashleigh Oliver. “After surpassing the impressive $1 million milestone by the second week of this year’s campaign, we knew this would be a special year and we’re beyond grateful to be able to offer more funding for our incredible beneficiaries.”
And even though the month of July is over, donations for the campaign will remain open till the end of August! Visit the Dry July website for more information.
