focus engaged in a Q&A session with Katherine to delve deeper into her story.
Since graduating as a health coach, what have you been up to?
I’ve established my own coaching business, Katherine Froggatt Mental Fitness & Cancer Coaching, where I dedicate my time to offering personalised coaching sessions, primarily assisting women dealing with burnout, addictive behaviours, and cancer diagnoses. My aim is to guide them towards regaining control, fostering confidence, and reinvigorating their energy.
I also conduct workplace wellbeing programs, including seminars and workshops, and contribute as a Team Coach and Business Development Lead for The Cancer Coach team in New Zealand and Australia.
Is there a particular aspect of health coaching that you are especially passionate about?
I’m deeply passionate about delivering workplace wellbeing programs. Witnessing the spark of curiosity in participants as they engage with the knowledge I share is incredibly fulfilling. The tangible impact of inspiring individuals to embrace behavioural and lifestyle changes through our seminars and workshops is immensely rewarding. With the escalating rates of cancer diagnoses, I believe group sessions are instrumental in raising awareness and reaching a broader audience.
As a health coach, what challenges have you faced?
Establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries with clients, particularly those in vulnerable states, has been a significant challenge. Regular supervision has been invaluable in navigating these complex situations.
Additionally, ensuring a consistent income flow for my business while managing operational expenses and meeting financial obligations has been another hurdle. As a solopreneur, juggling various responsibilities from coaching to administration, business development, sales, and marketing can be overwhelming at times.

How has your PREKURE training prepared you for real-world scenarios you encounter as a Health Coach?
The modules covered various aspects of health coaching, including mental health coaching. Having real-life coaches and experts deliver the content has been invaluable. The support and community within their network has also allowed me to connect with experienced coaches who inspire me.
I’ve also learned how to use coaching language to support my family members, including my kids and husband, in meaningful conversations, especially during challenging times.
On a professional level, being a Health Coach has enabled me to empower my clients to find their own answers through powerful questions and curiosity. Witnessing my clients take back agency and regain confidence is incredibly fulfilling.
What advice would you give to others considering a career or upskilling in health coaching, especially if they are coming from a similar background as yours?
Your lived experiences are invaluable and uniquely yours. If you feel compelled to share your story and help others navigate through challenges, consider a career in health coaching. By joining the mission to transform lifestyles and combat chronic illnesses, you can inspire positive change in the lives of others. Being part of the PREKURE community has bolstered my confidence and provided a supportive environment for growth and development. It has also helped me let go of what no longer serves me and I’ve built new foundations for wellbeing.
What does the future look like for you?
My mission is to reduce the incidence of cancer through lifestyle interventions. I work with women struggling with burnout, addictive behaviours, and chronic illness diagnoses to help them build mental fitness and regain confidence. In the coming years, I plan to offer workplace wellbeing programs focusing on improving metabolic health to prevent chronic illness. I also aim to become a motivational speaker at wellbeing conferences and a certified EFT practitioner to help clients navigate past trauma. Additionally, I aspire to become a supervisor and support other health coaches in building their coaching businesses.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
My journey into health coaching stems from various motivations, including my personal triumph over cancer. It’s been eight years since I went into remission, and while some say you never truly “cure” cancer, focusing on maintaining health and improving quality of life post-remission is paramount. Investing in yourself is an act of self-love with far-reaching implications, not just for oneself but for future generations. Together, we have the power to break the cycle of poor health outcomes and pave the way for a brighter, healthier future.
